“Overall the camp is a great way for children to have an opportunity to try activities they have an interest in. The staff is professional, respectful and flexible. My daughter enjoys her entire day at camp.”

A Nurturing Environment to Learn and Grow
We believe it is important for your child's first experiences with camp to be happy ones. At this early age, children thrive when they are protected and nurtured, and flourish when they are encouraged to explore their own interests.
This is why we have chosen to create a program which combines a small, closely-supervised, traditional camp experience with the opportunity later in the summer for your child to choose two activities per day that are not typically offered to 5 and 6 year olds.
A Wide Variety of Diverse Activities
Some of our daily activities include SPORTS, ARTS and CRAFTS, MUSIC, KARATE, COOKING, DRAMA, SWIMMING twice daily, FUN WITH NATURE and much more. During weeks 5, 6, and 7 your child will have the opportunity to select two activities such as COMPUTERS, PHOTOGRAPHY, TENNIS, CERAMICS and ROCKETRY, among others. During these choice periods, your campers will continue to be supervised by their regular counselors. Your child will be in a safe, secure environment each and every day.
State-of-the-art Indoor and Outdoor Facilities
Our superb air-conditioned indoor and expansive outdoor facilities at Newark Academy guarantee that unpredictable weather will not adversely affect your child's camp experience. Your child will never be forced to play outside for long periods of time on hot, humid days or miss a morning swim lesson or an afternoon recreational swim due to inclement weather.
Entertainment, Food and Care that Your Child Deserves
We provide weekly entertaining, age-appropriate professional shows such as The Harlem Wizards, Squeaky Clean Rock 'n' Roll Band, magicians, and a comedian. We also provide a complimentary Pizza lunch every Wednesday and offer an optional lunch program that can be purchased on a weekly basis. A nurse is on duty should campers become ill, need medication or require first-aid.
A Caring and Experienced Staff
Holly Newler, a current first grade teacher and a former Camp Director from Brooklake Day Camp from 1991 through 1999, runs this wonderful part of our camp. Holly is always available to talk to you and answer any questions or alleviate any concerns you may have. She will call before camp begins and follow up throughout the summer. Your child's counselor will also be calling with updates.
